On November 30, 2022, in Dushanbe, according to the plan for conducting scientific and scientific-technical events of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan in 2022, the International Scientific Conference “Issues of conservation of glaciers and rational use of water resources in Central Asia” was held by the Center. 50 scientists and specialists from scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Sciences and universities took part in the conference directly and virtually. At 4 scientific sessions of the conference, 17 scientific reports were heard and discussed.

  Scientific reports were devoted to the impact of climate change on the current state of glaciers, changes in the dynamics of glaciers in Central Asia and adjacent territories, glacial geochemistry, the threat of degradation of mountain glaciers and permafrost massifs, the formation and use of water resources in individual river basins, water conservation, rational use of water resources, problems of study and use of endorheic lakes, hydrochemical composition of river waters, operational monitoring and mapping in the water disaster risk management system and other urgent problems.
